Season Ending


On Monday the NHL suffered a scare after Dallas Stars Rich Peverley collapsed in the bench during the first six minutes of the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Peverley was immediately taken to the hospital as he was treated for a “Cardiac Event” it was later announced that Peverley was in a stable condition.  The 31-year-old had surgery in September to adjust his irregular heartbeat. The game against the Blue Jackets was postponed as both teams were shaken by the situation. Two- days later it was announced that Peverley was done for the season, he will undergo surgery again to regulate his heartbeat.

Peverley is not the only athlete who is done for the season.  It was also announced on Wednesday, that point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant was done for the season.  Bryant injured his lateral tibial plateau on his left knee on December 17. The superstar only played six games this season.
